Difference Capture One Pro and Capture One (Sony) | Tethering with Sony A7R3
Hi guys,
1.
i'm new with Capture One (CO).
Because i only use a Sony A7R 3, i bought the Sony version.
Is there a difference between CO Pro and my Sony "only" version?
2.
I have problems with my A7R 3 (newest firmware) and the tethering option of CO.
I use a wired connection with a USB-C cable: A7RT to Macbook Pro (Big Sur newest version) and no Hub in between. I got my camera loaded into CO, but i can't control the focus and some other features. Is it possible to use the zoom for finetuning the focus?
Hope you guys can help me.
Greetings and have a good start in the week

there should be no difference in this regard but c1 does not have the same functionality as sony remote even when the interface suggest it. sony remote is the better tether software for your camera.

I'm not sure if Sony thetering is even enabled on Pro Version.
I think the feature is only on Pro.
Starting a Tethered Session with a Sony
Setting up a tethered session is easy. Sony Alpha models require USB Connection Menu Setting to be set to PC Remote, typically located in the Set Up menu. Be sure to check your model or the Sony Help Guide for your model for more info.
Now that your Sony is ready, open Capture One 20 for Sony:
- Choose File > New Session
- Name the Session
- Check or Location of the session and the naming of the individual Session folders
- Connect your TetherPro USB cable to your camera and computer, the Camera Tool tab will be activated indicating a connection
- Every new capture will be stored in the capture folder of the Session
You’re on your way to faster workflows and higher levels of creativity.
