License question

AFAIK C1 can be installed on as many computers as you like but to get the program to work it has to be activated. With you having two activations you will only be able to run it on two of your computers at any one time.
It's a "deactivate one computer/activate another computer " process to move it around to any other computers you may have. You are also free to activate C1 on Windows or Mac computers or both.

Re hardware upgrade/downgrade: Would depend on the extent of the changes but logically from the above it would be best to deactivate before any changes and re-activate afterwards to avoid any problems.

After you get the v22 upgrade you will still only have two activations.
The only way to get more activations is to purchase another full price license.

You have 2 current activations. If you add another PC you need to deactivate a license on another machine. Deactivation can be done on your PC or through your account if you no longer have access to the machine.

Motherboard change or OS disk may trigger deactivation but this is trivial as you simply cancel licences on your account and relicense your PC's.

You have purchased 1 copy of Capture One. As with all perpetual licenced software if you "upgrade" you lose the rights to the version you upgraded from. It may be possible to run One V21 license and One V22 license but why would you?

At the time of writing, should you feel a need to run an earlier version of Capture One than your current License permits you can do this by activating the earlier version using your current license. For example a V21 activation key also permits activation of a V20 or V12, etc., installation should you need it.

One thing to be aware of is that it seems that choosing to move to a Subscription licence will cancel any previous perpetual license rights on the account used for the subscription.
