Sony A7 IV not being seen by Capture one 21?

"Looking exactly the same" is not enough to be taken in charge by Capture One. We have many other examples where the sensors, body, etc... were the same but going from version N to version N+1 of the camera did not allow to be taken in charge by C1. If A7IV is a very new camera, it will be necessary to wait a little before C1 support it (I don't know anything about Sony cameras).

    Andrew,

I suspect there may be some confusion about the number of different models/variants of the A7 nomenclature.

As far as I can tell V21 (i.e.14.x.x.x) does not support that particular model.

Solution: just change the EXIF field "Model" to "ILCE-7M3".

There are a bunch of tools but the quickest I found was exiftool: just drop the ARW files into a temp folder where you've put exiftool and run "exiftool -model="ILCE-7M3" -overwrite_original *.arw"

If you don't wish to use a command line editor (Terminal on the Mac), there are other options for Mac users. I tried a couple, one didn't work at all.

I found that Exif Editor (available in the App Store) worked really well for multiple images. Just changed 'ILCE-7M4' to 'ILCE-7M3' and >380 ARW files were done in a couple of mins and ready for import to Capture One 21.
