Obvious question : Did you click on "Done" after having customised your toolbar ?

Robert, thanks for the reply, but as I understand that is the only way to get out of the custom section, so yes I did.

Did you give the revised Workspace its own name when you saved it?

Are you opening a different catalog or session when the change reverts?

Yes I have done different/new names. And I have tried opening the same session and also different sessions but C1 keeps going back to a default tool bar with all these spacers in place.

Ok, so assuming you are indeed using a Mac (based on the post being in the Mac section of the forum) one possibility is that the dynamic information about the current or last used state of each catalog and session (by user) is not correctly updated when you save the change and so reverts at some future point of use.

The idea of these file entries is to allow people to re-open catalogs and session in the same settings as they were last used.

For Window these changes are saved in the user.config files. As I understand things for Macs they are in the plist data. Best get someone else to confirm that if you are not certain yourself.

Usually the advice has been delete the plist and allow recreation recreate but this may also eliminate some other dynamic data that you might wish to be aware of in advance.

Yes Using a mac. I was wondering if I should do that but also worried I might loose other stuff that is saved as a preference.  Anyone else have this issue and have any advice?  Thanks for everyone's help/advice.

    Two suggestions.

    1. After saving your workspace use the Window -> Workspace menu to select the space you just saved.  Yeah, that shouldn't be needed.  Still, it is worth a try.   Quit and re-launch Capture One.  Any difference?
    2. This one is really a shot in the dark.  It is roughly the same as a very first time install and has solved some strange issues I've run into in the past:
      • Save your workspace
      • Quit Capture One
      • Lauch a terminal window
      • Enter this command
        defaults delete com.captureone.captureone14
      • Close the terminal window
      • re-launch Capture One

That gets rid of the user interface related data that Capture One remembers.  After launching Capture One use the Window -> Workspace menu to re-load your saved workspace.  Quit and re-lauch.  Is the problem resolved?

Did anyone ever find a solution for this? I am having the same issue. Running C21 on a Mac, every time I customize the tools, quit, then relaunch, the default settings show up.

Also saved my settings as a custom workspace to no avail.
