And in some places, the spot heal just isn't there at all. C1 on the left, with spot healing applied, and the exported JPG on the right, with the "corrected" red spot still appearing on the arm.

I was afraid of that, it's a hardware acceleration issue. In the Preferences turn-off the hardware acceleration (from auto to never for both, to be sure) and at least the export is correct now.

I think this bug is back again (16.3.2.32). I tried to turn off the hardware acceleration (both options) but it doesn't solve the problem. The problem disappears when I put less heal spots in my layers.

it was back before 16.3.2.32. i just updated to that version to see if it remedied my situation and it did not. i have to remove the affected heals and then reapply. sometimes, the renders will appear wrong in capture one after it has been closed and opened. i came here looking for a possible solution, so i never tried turning off hardware acceleration. i've now gone and turned off both and will see how it goes. (14" m1 macbook pro, 16 gigabytes, running ventura 13.6.2)

I have seen instances where a heal looks off. Selecting the heal tool and slightly moving the source point for one heal seems to fix them all .. like it needs to re-render it.

yes, i've had those as well. but this was a situation where the capture one render looked perfect and the export was off. while attempting to fix it i clicked on a source point and the render looked like the export. i moved the point slightly around and then all was good again. but, then the export was still off. i finally got the export good by simply deleting the offending source points, creating a new layer, and then healing the offending areas on that layer.  i "think" the solution is to simply limit the number of heals i have on a single layer and use more layers. not sure what that number is, but i often create multiple heal layers just to keep things better organized.

You also can turn off Hardware Acceleration for Processing. That sometimes fixes this export issue. Also rebuild the image kernel, make sure graphics drivers are update to date, and your configuration is supported.

I'm quite surprised that this problem hasn't come up more in the forums...

I had it once, deleted the problematic heals and did them from scratch. Just that, it was before I have started participating here.

in reply to walter rowe, yeah, i did that after reading this thread. we'll see how that goes. as far as the image kernel, i just got this apple refurbished m1 macbook pro a couple of weeks ago (yes, i buy older models as they suit my purposes and i save many hundreds) and i did not restore from a backup. i did fresh installs of everything. so, this is a brand new capture one install. possibly somehow things got messed up on the acceleration optimization. it's a mac so drivers shouldn't be the problem. as far as configuration support, capture one says up to macos 13.5 and i'm running 13.6. so . . . maybe? but, i had this same problem running capture one 15.x on a 2017 macbook intel core i5 (edited from i3) with 8 gigabytes of ram. i encounter this very sporadically so i can't "recreate" it to test solutions. for me, it does seem to rear its head when there are quite a few heal points. i've never had it happen with just a handful of spots. this is endemic to capture one i've no doubt. but, i'm hopeful that i can find a simple solution at my end by changing my practices.
