Failure to import scanned jpg images
With a trial version of CO 22, I am unable to import nearly a third of my large collection of scanned images and transparencies. In most cases, there are other images scanned at the same time for which the import succeeds.
My first pass at importing the images was by loading an iView Media Pro catalog. The catalog import proceeded normally but at the end, produced a list of files that it claims are in an unsupported format. If I try to import just the images by navigating to the folder where they are stored, they don't even appear even though other images from the same time period and scanning effort do appear.
So many small issues with CO make me think this is not the product for me. I am yet another iView/MediaPro refugee who is scrambling to find a tool that might come close to replacing the now defunct software, an app that was way ahead of its time in ease of use and thoughtful design. Over the last couple of years, I have trialed more than half a dozen packages and, while CO comes closest to the DAM aspects in which MP excelled, none is anywhere near as competent.

Are they B&W images? If so were they scanned using the grayscale color space?
Capture One doesn't do grayscale. I can import them (or could prior to version 22 -- haven't tried with 22) but the result is a preview marked with the can't edit icon, a diagonal line through a pencil.

No, these were all color images. There is no preview. Either an error occurs during the catalog import or the image is not even visible upon import navigation.
