You're not the only one! Unfortunately I have the same problem ...

Everybody is talking about better performance with Mac computers. What about Windows users?

Same problem here with Styles. Apply styles is super slow now. But I had not this problem with the previous version v15.1.x.

I already contacted the support and asked for help. But we all should do this to show them that I am not the only one who has this problem.

We are not the only ones; I spoke with one of the ambassadors an he said that there are many complains about this issue. I don’t know if it is only a Windows only version, if it has to do with the new installed Edge runtime component or it affects also the Mac versions. I hope that they will fix it soon and release a fix.

There's something going on in the windows version for sure.

I have a very capabable PC and it only lags a bit when going to 100% or moving to 100%. For a second the "Focusing Viewer" loading signal apears them it "focus".

Other then that its very fast and responsive. Maybe theres something in the Edge runtime indeed.

A fix would be most welcomed.

    Cheers

I'm in the same boat. Reasonably fast computer and the new update makes styles nearly impossible to use any more. Doh!

I also have the same issue. I have tried on my laptop and desktop, both top spec. Both experience the same issue. This is only from latest 15.2 update. Please resolve. Thank you.

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for contacting us. I consider this a bug and I've filed a report with all the details for our R&D team to audit the issue. I will place your ticket on-hold and will get back to you when we have a response from our engineers or if we need any more information for this report.

Try to create a new admin user on your computer and see if creating a new document here solves the issue. On Windows follow these steps:

    ·         Click Start

    ·         Type Add User

    ·         Select Add, edit, or remove other users

    ·         Click Add someone else to this PC

    ·         Follow the prompts to add a new user. ...

    ·         Once the account is created, click it, then click Change account type

    ·         Select Administrator and click OK

    ·         Restart your computer

    ·         Install Capture One in this newly created user and see if your issue is reproducible there

    Best regards,

I also have the same issue after updating to 15.2 on my laptop with WIndows 10. Never had it with the previous versions. I takes several seconds to show the effect of a style on any individual photo and selecting styles seems very laggy, style selection focus doesn't move along with the mouse pointer in real-time but catches up a few seconds later, and then rendering the effect of the style takes several seconds. When copying / applying a style to a big set of images the operation works at same speed as before but when doing the same to a single image it takes much longer than before and shows "Applying Adjustments".  Highly annoying from usability point of view.

Same here, although not as severe as a 1-minute delay. Nonetheless, C1 feels sluggish when I hover over styles (I use the RNI film simulation ICC-based styles) - there is an annoying 1-sec delay until preview is update, that wasn't there in earlier versions.

5600X, 2070Super, tons of RAM, fast SSD, Win10.

I've just submitted a ticket for this too. Again, windows and again a beefy machine. But apparently switching between styles is just something you can't do in a realistic workflow. Nightmare. Before the latest release I had no such issues.

    hi mates
I have the same problems with C1 22 as you. I noticed something interesting:
I have 3 laptops and the problem is in the one I have updated Win 10 to 21H2 and the latest nVidia drivers.
However, on the other two laptops - including one i5, RAM 8Gb, Intel Hd Graphics without any NVidia or Radeon - C1 22 works without any problems.

I didn't do any updates on these two. Fortunately.
I think it's time for the new C1 22 update - the Capture engineering team could speed up a bit.

Hello, I have just installed the new release 15.2.1, and got the same problem.

    Any update on this?

    Regards.

Unfortunately the problem still remains with the update 15.2.1.

Obviously they were not able to solve the problem ...

    Hi all again
A few days ago I wrote about a similar problem to everyone here.
But my C1 22 finally got moving - and it wasn't the C1 22 fault, after all (maybe a little).
I checked the installed programs on the second computer where C1 was running - and set the same configuration on the one where C1 was not running. I mean updates, additions, improvements, drivers for the operation of Windows - I removed them all.
I just left the appropriate Microsoft Visual C ++ and Phase One drivers behind.
After this cleaning, the C1 22 started moving rapidly.

Hi Piotr - are you able to be precise about what you've removed? I have so many things installed!

I've discovered that my issue is related to having styles in the styles/style50 folder - if I remove the styles then it runs perfectly. Not that I have a fix as I would rather have and use the styles.

Ben - it's hard to say but these were older versions of Microsoft Visual C ++, Dell service programs (that's my laptop) and all the drivers and updates brought by these programs, drivers brought by CCleaner, drivers and updates from DriverPack-17-Online, driverfixwebdl  and similar.
All this stuff was to somehow improve the operation of Windows, motherboard, USB ports, etc.
I fired everything because I was determined to put the system up again. And it worked.

Be careful with removing older versions of the C++ redist. Some older app/games might depend on an older C++ dll specifically. e.g. removing the 2012 version breaks Battlefield 4.

Driverpacks, codec packs and CCleaner are... garbage. So agree on removing those.

I managed to get it working, at least with never styles. The workflow was:

1.Saved user export recipes, user style brushes and workspaces.

    2 Uninstalled C1

    3. Removed all other remaining files from program files and app data

    4. Deleted  all entries with "CaptureOne" and "PhaseOne" from the registry

    5. Reinstalled Capture One and copied back all the styles, custom brushes, recipes and workspaces.

    Hello everyone.

I have the same problem with 15.2. Very slow to apply a style, slow as well when I hover over a style. Equally slow to copy paste adjustments from one picture to another; I've submitted a ticket a few weeks ago about that but never heard from it since.

I still had the last 15.1xx installer and installed it again. Everything works perfectly now.

I may try the solution above but it's a pity that we have to do that to make it work as it should...

Glad to see that I'm not the only one !

I have the same problem, and I did what Alex Gubariu - and figured out that problem is in a number of Styles you have.

After reinstall, applying default styles (legacy for example) works fine, but after I've copied all my styles it was slow again. So I left only styles I really use and deleted everything else - now it works fine. I had RNI 5 Styles where you have like thousand of them, and I was adding it folder by folder and after every add styles worked slower and slower.

It is obviously a bug because 15.1 and all previous versions worked fine. But for now I will just sit with limited number of styles ( I anyway was using like 10-20 of them).

    @Hank Hannigan Thank you!

I am also using RNI 5 styles. I deleted all "jpeg" and "grainy" style folders but kept all the non-grainy "Standard" style folders, and the situation is much improved, almost bearable. Thanks again for the tip.

I still expect this to be fixed properly in a future version, of course.

@Nick Hannigan, I had come to the same conclusion. I have raised this in a support ticket and suggested that the problem is down to number of styles/folder depths in use. However the support team have been trying to find any other reason to blame this on rather than accepting that it is a bug. If others with the same issue email them with this then they might finally log this as a bug in the latest releases.

I just tested this bug on a pc where C1 were not installed previously, and can confirm that it appears only after you add to your folder ICC-based styles as RNI are. I've copied all my non-ICC styles multiple times in new directories to create ~1000 duplicate styles and did not observe drops in productivity, but immediately after I've added RNI styles it happened - style was applying very slowly.

That is an interesting thing because a year ago I've raised a bug (and chased team fo 2 months until it was resolved)where RNI styles and every other ICC-based style stopped applying after being applied once - would be really funny if this new bug is linked to old resolved one.

I've tried with the RNI demo but don't get the same issue - do RNI release 'updates?' or is it just the the current C1 just can't handle ICC-styles of all types?

  • Hank Hannigan

@FirstName LastName read posts above - it happens gradually as you increase number of ICC styles. RNI Pro styles have huge amount of styles as they have every style duplicated in %. You can test it on your side if you take Demo files and duplicate it 20 times in 20 folders.

    Hello.

I've installed new 15.3.0 version. Styles are working fine in my case.

    Regards.

    I confirm 15.3 fixed that.

Even with a great number of ICC styles ? I just need confirmation before upgrading. I was lucky enough to have an old .exe from the previous version of C1 and a backup of my catalog (because the catalog was updated with 15.2 ). I need to be sure ^^
