Star rating fails to show total number of pics with specific rating?
I am finding that Capture One will not show the respective total numbers of star rated pics, in all cases the total number remains zero, and similarly with the colour rating. Anyone have a solution? Thanks

Whether using a session or a catalog the numbers are usually checked and adjusted as one opens the document. After opening the numbers should be maintained as any changes are applied.
Is that not happening in your case?
Where are you looking in order to observe the counts?
Do you have any filters operational?
Does you installation work entirely normally other than for these count issues?

I use catalogs and the numbers remain zero for any folder I interrogate. The numbers do not change as rated items are added or removed but remain at zero. There are no filters in operation. The installation appears to work as normal.

Have you contacted support?
And maybe share a screenshot of your library tool to show what you mean0 -
See the attached pic
There are at least 12 photos in the screenshot that have a 3 star rating but if you look at the selected star rating (bottom left) where 3 stars is highlighted you can see that the actual number remains zero? I haven't contacted support because my recent experience is that there are many glitches within Capture One 22 and there response time is in weeks, not days. I recently had a similar problem where Cap1 would not display all the photos in a select number of folders but would only show a proportion. The little clock symbol at the middle top of the screen which is visible while Cap1 finds the images to display only got to 3/4 full and failed to show the full number of photos in the file. After several weeks Cap1 support had no solution for this and only advised a get-around to copy the files into a new folder. I had already done this, but there was no explanation of the problem.

What happens if you remove the additional search (click the circled "x" near the ellipsis to the right of "Search")?

The number of photos identified remains zero whether the filter search is used or not ie even if I click the circled 'x'

OK. I know too little about Capture One metadata as I never(!) do metadata work in Capture One. Your screenshot indicates you had an active filter despite your "There are no filters in operation" answer to SFA's question. It also appears you have two filter tools in the stack, but I don't know if that has any effect related to the current issue.

Dear All, Thanks for the comments, however I can assure you there are no filters in operation. The reason that the last image shows filters is because I clicked the 3 star option. The result of this was that the browser only showed the 3 star images but that there are no figures against any of the other star ratings, or indeed the total number of images. I attach 2 new images below: the first one shows no filters yet all the star ratings show zero ( there are various star ratings within the folder), the second illustrates the scenario when I click the 3 star rating. As you can see, the images in the browser are all 3 star yet all the star rating numbers remain at zero.
No Filters
3 Star filter applied - ratings remain zero?

Hi All. I have resolved this, clearly a glitch in the program. I went into the filter tab details and unticked, then re-ticked both the star rating and the colour and the numbers have returned. Thank you all for your help, interest and support.

What version are you running 15.2?

Hi Tax. I am running v15.2 but please see my earlier comment where I identify how I resolved this. There was nothing wrong with my settings, just what appears to be a glitch in the program. Once I unticked and re-ticked the filter details the number and colour settings returned. No further action necessary.
