System to Organize Images Not on the Main Drive?

Hello,

Sorry if this has been asked already.

I'm on a Mac Mini M1 2020 running Big Sur 11.6.5, and the only drive is a 2TB. I didn't want this thing but the MacPro that's available is way too $$$$. 

I don't know why, but you can't run CP1 unless the catalogs are on the main drive.

My main drive is almost full. I have an older catalog that I need to move the RAW files to another drive. 

My question is can I use a system like a NAS? Will this help with my larger files(I'm using a Canon R5 and those RAW files are about 45MP each as compared to my Canon Mk5 III are about half the sizes). 

I've got I've got 7 external drives attached to this machine. Before I was using a MacPro Mid 2012 and I had everything in that one case, all 6 internals drives and it ran with little issues. 

Is there anyone that is an expert at CP1 who you can hire to set things up? I'm beating my head around this mess.

  I use CP1 on an external volume. Did you check the Security settings to make sure that CP1 has access to removable volumes?

  Yep it has access to everything.
