Simply Invert the (RGB) levels in the levels-tool or using the curve tool, change whitebalance, contrast and saturation for black and white images and save it as a custom style preset. Same for color negatives or color positives.

this way you can select a bunch of negatives and convert them in one go.

There is even more benefit when using a tethered workflow. Here your style or any previous settings will be applied to your negative while you shoot, plus you have better control over focus and sharpness on your monitor while shooting.

As I consider upgrading to v23 from v21 (purchased middle of last year) and not seeing much of immediate interest, I thought I'd comment and vote on feature requests that would cause me to pay for an upgrade immediately.

Exposing the CH film Modes in the Base Characteristics Tool is at or near the top of my short list. I know there are alternative methods via curves or levels but that has drawbacks. I'm scanning more and more film these days and a negative inversion tool seems an easy win since it's in the software already.

    Cheers

Count me in for this too. I am on Capture One 12 still as I didn't see any good reason to upgrade. Having a well working negative inversion tool that delivers beautiful colors would be definitly a good reason to upgrade.

C1 community thread „Why are negative inversion tools restricted to CH?“ shows some interesting alternatives for negative conversion in C1.
