Conflict with Windows One Drive

Hi Geoff, did you resolve this? I have just signed up to One Drive and it has inadvertently moved my entire desktop, with docs/pictures folders, onto one drive cloud. Capture One no longer recognises the session and will not open the link.

    Hi Simon,

Not entirely. I now make sure I store my catalogues and back-up catalogue folders in folders outside the ones One Drive has access to. I do this at work and home, where I have separate Capture One licenses and multiple computers at each site.

I use Capture One at work for focus stacking. It's ability to export hundreds of images as 16-bit TIFFs, using all the power of my computer, is essential for my preferred stacking program, Zerene Stacker. Fast local storage is also essential. These individual images are pretty useless and are eventually deleted.

I have different programs on different computers but even when I have set One Drive to not backup my desktop it seems to default to doing so after Windows updates. So often I click on a screen shortcut and it doesn't work.I have to search for the program in the start menu. Very annoying!

Can you download the catalogue folders to another drive, perhaps as a Zip folder? Then extract them to another drive and open the Capture One Catalogue that way?

Thank you both for your response. I will restore desktop to previous state and try to sync only specific files to one drive.
