I'm also having this issue. I tried opening the image with adobe camera raw as well and there were no issues so it does at least seem to be a capture one problem instead of corrupted/broken files. (I'm on windows 10)

There are clearly issues with the support for this camera:

So have you all raised support cases with Capture One?

Posting here is not raising it with Capture One...

    @Keith R
Same here, already filed a support request.

I got an answer already in the meantime, so fingers crossed..:
"Thanks for contacting us, this is a known bug that our R&D engineers are working on to fix. I will place your ticket on-hold and will get back to you once we have a response from our engineers or if we need any more information regarding this report.

We also cannot guarantee that this bug will be fixed in the next service release, but rest assured that it has been reported and will be looked into, and our developers will do their best to roll out a fix as soon as possible.

    Best regards,

    "

Just so you know. The problem goes away if you shoot uncompressed. Seems to be an issue with Lossless.

I'm late to this but it looks like a FujiFilm bug - a size field in the raw header is set to the size it would have been if the file was uncompressed. Not sure how to report it to FujiFilm but its probably quicker for Capture One to write a workaround (which should be easy).

    Hi guys,

I have a similar issue it says: "Unable to create proxy. The image file maybe damaged or otherwise unable to load. Code 19".

Actually, the file isn't damaged as the Preview app is loading the correct preview of the raw file.

I immediately submitted the request but didn't get back any response for a few days which is unusual. Just wondering if anyone has received a resolution from C1 support team. Thanks

Upgraded to Capture One 2023 Pro. On a Mac. Camera A7R4. Uploaded RAW files. Same issues.

I recently received quite a few of these errors while regenerating large batches of previews after changing the preview size setting. In my case the .RAF files are from a X-S10 and certainly not corrupt. Going to the individual files the logs reported as "damaged or otherwise unable to load" and regenerating previews for them again succeeded without any complaints. Previews show correctly and the images can be edited without issue.

So like other said it's not a XH2s specific issue...but rather C1 having issues with lossless compressed Fuji RAW files. (I do indeed shoot compressed.)

Hi Folks, think i've found a way around this issue by shooting Tethered and "fixed" not on "autothis has seemed to deal with the proxy creation failed notification.
