Capture One 22 not working with new Ventura install
Just downloaded Ventura and Capture One 22 won't open. Get the message "Capture One 22 quit unexpectedly" every time I try to open it.

How is it possible that capture one asks for more money for capture one to work when the computer OS is updated.. That is really insane. I understand that if I would want a new version of capture one I need to pay, but to have a software I paid a lot just a few months ago to ask for more money just because of an OS update seems like a robbery to me.
Capture one.. FIX THIS NOW!

We don't yet know whether Capture One will release an update to Capture One 22 that will support Ventura, or whether it will require an upgrade to Capture One 23 (or, at least, I don't know the answer to that question).
We get this every year. Why do users find it sensible to upgrade MacOS only days after a new version comes out without checking first whether software they rely on will work with it? The release notes for Capture One are perfectly clear as to what versions of Windows and of MacOS are supported.

I have exactly the same issue, having just upgraded to Ventura. I would expect a version 22 release to support the latest OSX, 13.0, very soon since software developers have early access for exactly this kind of situation. Please advise on the timeframe.

Hm, based on the screen shot you are not using the latest version of CaptureOne.
What happens if you update to the latest version (15.4.1)?

Updating to 15.4.1 worked! Thanks for catching that RC Photo

If you'd searched the forum, you'd have saved yourself all the angst - this solution has been shared umpteen times, for a week or so.

I have the same issue! How do I update?

If you have the subscription, you just go to the page with the current version: https://www.captureone.com/en/account/download then follow steps for install. If you purchased a perpetual license, I would assume you can do the same if it is in the same version, or if you have an older version you would need to pay for upgrade

I solved the above issue, disactivating my Capture One 22 and downloading it again.

Do you have a (reliable) source for that claim? The announcement of Capture One v23, does not exclude a maintenance release for CO v22. E.g., last year CO v21 got a maintenance release to officially support Monterey.
Otherwise, here in the forum are several reports that the latest version of Capture One v22 works under Ventura? Did you even try to (re)install the latest version?
Oh, I almost forgot to mention it: There is nobody else to blame than yourself.
In the release notes for each version, Capture One describes the requirements and the supported OS versions. If you change your OS Version to an unsupported version and you do not know for sure that your (business) critical/important SW is working, it is
- on your own risk
- likely to end in a desaster
If you want to recover from the situation, I'd see two possibilities:
- Downgrade your system with the help of a Backup (Timemachine?).
- Download the latest version of Capture One, install it and try again. If you then still face problems, maybe you can raise a support ticket to help Capture One to fix the problem, which then could result in a new maintenance release

And I thought I hated Adobe.

How did you deactivate Capture One 22? I also have Venture and any version of Capture one WILL NOT EVEN LOAD, much less enable deactivation? Just wondring.

Not surprised. Capture One is a joke. How many times per year do we all have to go through this (and other) nonsense.
