Why is there no discount for existing perpetual licence holders?

I completely agree with you. This software is becoming very over priced and the company is showing no respect for the people that have supported them year after year.

Yes, I agree too...the perpetual licence upgrade costs (I started years back) are way too high (for the amount of use 5%? due to non-professional use) I use it for...and I can't share with my interested son (student) too...overkill. Plus the licencing registration whenever I upgraded is overly complicated.

    100% agreement as well.

Last year I paid $181 CAD and now it is up to $277 or I can get it with the Styles pack on BF sale for $266.

Or, even worse, if I check the pricing in Incognito mode I see a new license is $249.

Makes no sense at all and punishes existing users.

We're only get 10% or so new code, so why should be paying for 100% (Same price offered to new customers)

Contacted support, here's what they said:

"Thank you for sharing your feedback!

As it's an ongoing campaign - nothing will change this time (only upgrades bundled with styles will stay 50% discounted).

But I will make sure to forward all the concerns to the marketing team so that we take them into consideration for future discount campaigns.  "

Apparently they are oblivious as to why this pricing does not make sense for us existing customers. I'm not going to buy it until they backtrack on this policy, and I hope many of you do the same.

Thank you Jack for bringing this to their attention.

I also considered an upgrade, but decided against it. For the same reason.

This is a significant fubar or death wish on Phase One's part or death desire. As a user since Capture One Version 5, it is insulting to ask me to pay more for an upgrade than a new user pays for their first license when attempting to upgrade from version 22 to version 23. I was traveling and missed the pre-release promotion by less than 24 hours; I tried to update my license with the e-mail link, but the price changed, so I downloaded the v.23 trial expecting an upgrade price close or similar to be available on Black Friday.

Even the upgrade bundle offer for styles is less than the standard upgrade package with no styles. I might be tempted to buy it if I did not already own the following packages:

    Base Characteristics ^ ^ ICC Profile From File (Adobe RGB (1998)) Curve Auto v Engine Capture One 20/21 v Styles and Presets * * * " • • / TS - Time Traveler / 26. CL - Pastel Fade Overridden
    v Custom Styles > B&W (v11) > BEYOND B&W> BEYOND FILM> CINEMATIC (v11) > Color Shift Styles > EDITORIAL BY MARIE BAERSCH> EDITORIAL BY MICHAEL WOLOSZYNOWICZ> EDITORIAL BY PRATIK NAIK> FILM (v11) > INFINITE PEAKS BY BRYAN MINEAR> LATITUDE - DEEP FOREST> LATITUDE - SUNBOUND> MATTE (v11) > Mixology 1.1 > NORDIC EDITORIAL> NORDIC LIFESTYLE> PACIFIC BY JOHN SCHELL> Pro Color Grading Styles > Ready Looks > Reverie by Lukas Piatek > SEASONAL (v11) v Built-in Styles > IQ Styles > LEGACY> SPRING> Built-in Presets

The packages offered to long-time Capture One Users like me are a travesty at best and a slap in the face at worst.

Totally agree with the above from all contributors. Looks like phase one is pushing license holders to a subscription.

It’s like any company which becomes to big or to big in their own eyes: they think they can sell anything against any price.

I’m not going to upgrade under this conditions.
