To get absolute dimensions on screen you have to create an output recipe
where screen pixel resolution matches image output pixel resolution,
select that recipe and then turn on recipe proofing.

    I have a 2560 x 1600 display which measures about 25 inches wide
That works out to about 102 screen pixels per inch (2560/25).
If I create an output recipe with a resolution of 102 px/in and a
width dimension of 200mm, select it, then turn on recipe proofing
the screen image is near enough to 200mm wide, measured with a ruler.
For bigger output images where one screen dimension goes beyond
the size on one of the monitor's display dimensions, you have to double click the image to display it at absolute size.

In addition to what gb explained you need the set the zoom level to 100%.

Yes thanks BeO, that is what I meant by double clicking larger images.
But proofed images with dimensions less than or equal to the available screen size
will be displayed (correctly) by C1 at the "Fit" zoom level, but this it is also, at the same time, the 100% level for these smaller images.
