Hi everyone,
We are introducing a new way to make feature requests.
It's very similar to what you see in here, only with direct communication to our Product team and visual feedback to see which requests are planned, not planned, or simply a good idea.
Once the new section of the forum is live, I will be archiving this topic. I wanted to give a heads up, because any feature requests made after this post will not be considered.
We hope you'll enjoy the new way of making feature requests and more direct communication with members of the Capture One team who are not called Jack :)
This is also just the beginning. We have a few things planned that will greatly improve the way you make feature requests, report bugs, and provide feedback in general.
We're dedicated to providing as much information as we can on a frequent basis, so that you can make informed and practical decisions with regards to your license and any future purchases. And of course to simply stay up to date with what's going on at Capture One.
All the best,
Team Capture One

Which topic is closing ???????
-1 -
jozef dassen The topic this post was created in (Feature Requests), which you can see at the top of the page (Capture One > Community > Feature Requests)
I will be making a new topic with the new functionality as soon as it is ready. This is just a heads up, so that people hopefully see this post before they make a feature request.

Sounds great! I like the idea of getting more feedback on which of the feature requests are planned and not planned. It's always good for the community to also hear or see the developers opinion on our feature requests in some way. Looking forward to it and thanks for your efforts!

Really glad to hear that, Jürgen. It’s nice to get some positive feedback :)

So I am not clear about where to put Feature Request.. Capture One support ? or community ??
Capture One support seems/seemed to be the official way, but hardly ever anything happens. You get a thank you and they close the topic.
Community is something Capture One looks at? or just a discussion board??
Anyway after 10 years of Capture One I keep trying but hardly have any hope that they will ever do what non-professional users ask for...
We will see what the "new section of the forum" brings. But most of all we clarity about Capture One's involvement.

Will the current Feature Requests section of the forum still be accessible or will it be removed completely?

jozef dassen You write them in the community, the new topic will be published shortly.
The forum is absolutely something we look at. With the new community topic, there will be direct interaction with the Product team.
I'm confident that with the new way of creating feature requests, you'll feel more confident that your request is being acknowledged and considered. It's a big goal of mine and Capture One's to make sure you all feel more involved and informed.

Thomas Kyhn I'm going to remove it completely. But we will still have access to it internally, so the requests are not in vain.

Thanks for your reply. Would it be an option just to lock it? I think it would be useful to have for reference so that you can see how other users have described the features they miss. Often it will help you to better think through the request you're making.

A request forum is closely related to a FAQ in that it requires an editor. May I suggest you put in that effort and make the result available to your users in a form that can be easily navigated? Almost any document format i know beats what your forum software currently offers.

I agree. Locking it would be preferable by far.

Thomas Kyhn Good suggestion. I'll go for that option if it is possible and can fully understand why you'd prefer that.

I'm glad to hear that.

Yes, locking it would be preferable.

I've archived this topic and made it visible to signed-in users only.
However, I will be removing the topic altogether at some point, as it negatively affects search results and the overall discoverability of the now current "Improve Capture One" topic.
Hope you can understand that and thank you for raising it in the first place.

I think it would make sense to have a final comment from you Jack, that links to the current "Improve Capture One" topic you mentioned.
Edit: I now see it: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/6431248131613-Improve-Capture-One

Jack, Can you please let us know whether it makes sense to make a feature request / give feedback via the new "Improve C1" section AND via actual request to support ("Submit a request", request type "Workflow")? Which way do you prefer?

Ralf this is closing / is archived. I've added a feature request to the improve capture one section which Jack already mentioned is where all feature requests will be. Here's the feature request for subject selection masks in the new section the c1 team created. Vote this link up: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/9801629855901-Subject-Selection-Masking

Danny, my question is not whether to post a request in this closed/archived topic or the new "Improve C1" section (I've already added a feature request there myself) but rather whether it makes sense to submit a feature request directly to C1 support in addition to posting in the new section. It is not clear to me whether introducing this "new way" of making feature requests replaces or complements a direct support ticket.
As Jack announced the new way of making a feature request, I hope he will be able to answer my question.

Danny, Had put my vote in for your request even before...

Ralf Kanitz @... The "Submit a Request" button is to submit a request to support, e.g. If you have a technical issue that is preventing you from working. If you have a suggestion on how we can improve Capture One, then please go here: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/6431248131613-Improve-Capture-One
