Luma Range modal blocks all interaction with the main window
ImplementedI love the Luma Range masking, but it's annoying that it's a modal popup that blocks you from moving or zooming the photo as you adjust the mask. As far as I can tell you have to click 'ok' -- even if you're not yet ok with the mask -- zoom/pan to inspect the mask, click the Luma Range button, tweak the range, click 'ok', zoom/pan, inspect, click Luma Range, tweak the range, etc ...
Also, the usual 'M' and 'Option-M' keyboard shortcuts to toggle masks don't work in the Luma Range modal, you have to click the checkbox.s
Why not just make Luma Range a normal sidebar tool like all the others, rather than a floating+blocking modal?
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
Every time I use the Luma Range, which is often.
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?
Nope, I'm not aware of a workaround. The modal blocks all interaction with the main window, including keyboard shortcuts.
Are you happy to be contacted further about this suggestion or request?
Yes

Hi Altay,
Thanks for the post. This is something we will implement in a future version!

This dialog being modal is indeed annoying.

Yes.... If you see all Model Dialogs in C1 don't have option to create "Custom User Presets"..
Examples : Luma Range, Brush Settings and Import / Export Images ...
I am not sure, is it really C1 decision or ..... ????

As I mentioned above, all Model Dialogs in C1 don't have option to create "Custom User Presets". Please look into that as well.....

Can we have user interaction with the image preview also when the "Refine mask" and "Feather mask" dialog windows are displayed?
I want to see the effect of these two functions on other parts of the image but cannot change zoom level nor can I navigate to these other parts.

When is this feature going to be added to the Mac version, which was mentioned in 16.3 Release Notes
"The Luma Range dialog no longer blocks the interface, letting you zoom and pan the Viewer while the dialog is open. This is currently Windows only but will come to Mac in a later release."

Hi Jeff Griffin,
It's already in the latest version of Capture One, but must have been omitted from the release notes by mistake.
