So annoying, I'm now stuck back using lightroom again, I thought I'd forever rid myself of the pain forever.I'll be back though when the G9 is supported.

I wouldn't upgrade your mac for 4k but the extra speed from a new mac would be nice. The new ones run rings around a 2012, time is money.

Depends what your priorities are, me I want great RAW processing. I don't really use it for cataloguing. I want to move finished projects off local storage into the cloud.

You're going to see a massive speed bump, so I'd just bite the bullet and upgrade and get a powered hub to deal with the cables.

I use a raid 1 mirror drive, writes to both drives at the same time.
