QUESTION
How do I change the language in Capture One?
ANSWER
NOTE: Currently, Capture One can work with the following languages:
Language | Language code |
Deutsch (German) | de |
English | en |
Español (Spanish) | es |
Français (French) | fr |
Italiano (Italian) | it |
Nederlands (Dutch) | nl |
Polski (Polish) | pl |
Português (Portuguese) | pt |
Русский (Russian) | ru |
Svenska (Swedish) | sv |
日本語 (Japanese) | ja |
한국어 (Korean) | kr |
中文 (Chinese) | zh |
中文 (漢語) (Chinese (Traditional)) | zh-Hant |
For macOS
Method 1
The software language will depend on the language of your operating system. If you run your computer in English - then the Capture One interface will be in English too. In order to change it to another language, just change your OS language under System Preferences -> Language & Region and restart your computer.
Method 2
1. You can also change the language of Capture One in the Terminal.
a. For Capture One 20 (13.x.x)
Launch the Terminal and type the following command:
defaults write com.captureone.captureone13 AppleLanguages '(en)'
NOTE: You can change 'en' to another language code (see the table above) according to the ISO 639 standard.
b. For Capture One 12 and earlier versions
Launch the Terminal and type the following command:
defaults write com.phaseone.captureone12 AppleLanguages '(en)'
You can change 'en' to another language code (see the table above) according to the ISO 639 standard.
NOTE: Substituting 12 to 11, 10, 9, etc. in the string above will make it work for the corresponding version of Capture One.
3. Then restart Capture One.
For Windows
1. Activate Capture One application, then go to Edit -> Preferences -> General.
2. Once you have chosen the preferable language, restart the application.
