importing
capture one keeps crashing when I try to import from SD card

If you want help with that, you'll need to say more. What version of MacOS? What version of Capture One? At what point does it crash? Are you working in a catalog or a session? If a catalog, where are you importing the images to? What happens if you create a new session or a new catalog - do you still have the problem? Can you try a different card reader, and if so does the problem persist? Have you successfully done it before or has it never worked for you?
... and any other information that might make it possible to suggest a solution.
