Hi. I've just run into major problems with C1 22 and Sonoma. C1 keeps crashing and it even managed to get my whole Mac to crash. I'm running Sonoma on a 2019 iMac with i9 chip and 8GB RAM. I recently updated to Sonoma, not thinking about C1 as I do not use C1 that very often. And now have the problem that C1 will not run anymore and no information on how to fix it.

I'vee used this text to open a new case. For now, I suggest you stick with an older version of MacOS.

    Thanks Erwin for your input.
Do you have a case number for your ticket - will follow your case :) ?

    Hi Alexander.

    Case number is #206779

I'm afraid there is not much that will be done, because according to the info on the C1 site, C1 22 only supports up to Ventura (13.0). So I guess I have a serious problem. Either upgrade to C1 23 or downgrade to MacOS 13.

    Hi Erwin,
Yes, I think you're right. Not expecting anything anymore from Capture One.
Years back I actually choose them over Adobe Lightroom because of the possibility to purchase perpetual license....
Doesn't understand them anymore. If they do not update a 22 license to be working with Sonoma I will abandone. I bought the license to the software March/april 2022, and after 1.5 years they choose to stop updating. It's a joke, and not some thing I want to keep supporting...
    Br, Alexander

Kind of nit sure myself. I also bought the perpetual license, but if that stops working and they force people to switch to subscriptions that way, I guess I‘m out too.
    Cheers
    Erwin

Post/rant deleted. Capture One are not worth the effort. See you all over on the Adobe platform. 😇

Have you solved your problem yet?

I am running Sonoma (14.1) with C1 (15.4.3) on a 2019 iMac and I am not experiencing any problems.

Hm, that’s strange. It works for me. But maybe that’s because I opened the case and the status is now closed. Anyway. Here is the text from the first answer I got from C1 and this seems to work. Hope that helps.

Indeed, macOS Sonoma is not supported with Capture One 22, however, it should at least work normally (we can't guarantee that it would be a smooth sailing, though). Something you can try to leverage it with is to install it under a new admin user.

At last, creating a new macOS admin user is very close to installing a new, clean OS.
You can add and remove users in System Preferences – Users & Groups.
Run Capture One there and create a new document inside the user's Pictures folder, see how it goes.

Vielen Dank, wenigstens etwas. Mir geht es ähnlich mit der gekauften Lizenz 22. Das ist kein gutes Geschäftsmodell und grenzt an Nötigung.
