Hardware Acceleration on Apple M3 not working
I upgraded from a 2015 MBP to a 2023 M3 Pro MPB.
I am using C1 16.2.6.7 (I don't have access to 16.3 although the purchase is not even a year ago)
I expected styles and style brushes and previewing images to be way faster. But they are maybe a little. (And yes, in 2023 loading times of 24 MP Sony-Raw images are an issue! so that I tend to select jpeg over RAW as I did with the 2015 MacBook)
The start of the application is faster. But that has not been an issue with the 2015 Device.
Turning on and off hardware acceleration does change exactly nothing even though it says it uses Hardware Acceleration.

I did another experiment. I opened Activity Monitor from macOS and drove crazy with the brightness control to simulate maximum usage.
There was indeed a difference in terms of statistics. With hardware acceleration turned on the statistics changed.
CPU 350% -> 100%
GPI 0,5% -> 27%
But still it is not quicker with hardware acceleration enabled and not really quicker as with a device that is 8 years olderBut it was very slow. I also tested darktable, which is said to be very slow. On my machine the results are comparable. (it is hard to compare them directly). It is taking over 500% CPU as well as 20% GPU.
