    File>Export>Export original files...

Then in the dialog box make sure to check the box to include adjustments. Optionally check the box to pack as EIP.

Create a session for a shoot first, then select all images from that shoot and export them to the session's "Capture" folder, then export the next shoot etc.

Sessions don't natively create EIPs, so I recommend not to check it in the export dialog, unless you have good reasons for it.

In Sessions you can package the images as EIPs - just select them all and choose Pack As EIP from the Image menu.

It's catalogs where you can't do that and can only create EIPs through the export dialog as shown in my post above.

    Hi

Got it. Thanks both for your help. I'll try this and see how it works.

    You're welcome.

There is certainly a use cases for EIPs but my point is (maybe poorly indicated with the term 'natively') that if you create a session and import images then you will not find any EIP but only raw files.

BeO - true, but if you have EIPs and import them into a session they stay as EIPs and can be worked on in the usual way, unless you choose to unpack them again. Exporting originals can work both ways.

    Hi Ian Wilson

I'm curious... do you regularly use EIPs, and for what?

I personally would not use EIP as working format. Its great for packing up an image or a few and sending them to someone else who also has Capture One. They can unpack them, do more work, repack them, and send them back. I have done this a few times when I'm helping a client learn Capture One. They send me a few of their files in EIP. This lets me see what they have done. I can then offer constructive ideas, make changes to their files, and send them back to illustrate my points.

    Hi BeO

    No I don't.

But if I were wanting to export originals and add them to sessions, as the OP wanted to do, it would be one way of doing it. It seemed to me quicker and easier to understand than the alternative which is explaining the way that the adjustments will be dealt with if you export originals with adjustments but not as EIPs. It can be done, but if someone is not sure what they are doing, there would be a danger of doing something like moving the exported originals to another location without moving the subfolders that Capture One creates, which could lose the adjustments. I'd know not to do that, but I didn't want to give advice that might lead someone to lose their work.

You can export an original from a catalog to a with EIP. Just tick the box to include adjustments. I have a video on my YouTube channel about how to migrate from catalogs back to sessions that demonstrates this.
