Applying styles and presets to layers
After the most recent Capture One update I no longer have the option to apply styles to a layer when I right-click on them. Whatever else I try, they're always applied to the base layer. How do I fix this?

(EDITED)
Have you remembered that some styles can only apply to the background layer (image layer)? For instance a style that involves using the black-and-white tool. If the style is one that can be applied to a new layer, you should be able to either apply it to the selected layer, or apply it to a new layer. But you can't just click the style - that will apply it to the background layer. Right-click it and you should see those options. (But if it is a style with something in it that can only go on the background, those options will be greyed out.)

I am aware of the limitations of some styles, but even then the option to apply it to a layer still appears on right-clicking it, albeit greyed out. When I right-click on any of my styles the only options I get are Apply, Add to Favourites or Delete.

Try it from the styles tool instead of the layers tool. They provide different options. I have no idea why.

I'm not a great user of styles, but I seem to remember that after one recent update of Capture One, you needed to update your styles. How old was the version you were using before you updated it? If I remember correctly, you needed to download newer versions of your styles. (At no cost.)
Or am I remembering wrongly? Walter Rowe can you say more about that?

I have no recollection of needing to update styles after a recent update but that doesn't mean it isn't so. I seem to recall that the menu in the layers tool differs from the menu in the styles tool. The styles tool offers to create a new layer with a style and the layers tool does not.

I've just installed the latest update, which seems to have resolved the issue. Thanks for you input, guys.
