permanently delete
Hi there,
I noticed a new, strange and confusing phenomenon while trying to permanently delete an image (command/shift/delete):
so you enter the key combination and then, in the library, the active marker (white line around the image) goes to the next image. Now it looks like you're going to delete the next image which is very confusing.
Is this a bug or did you implement this on purpose?
I can't see the logic but perhaps someone can help me to clear this up.
Thank you, Peter

After you delete the selected image, the selection (white border) has to go somewhere else, or else it would have to leave no image selected after the deletion. I am not sure whether the behaviour has changed, or not.

Hi Ian, thanks for looking into this.
The thing is that the white border is changing to the next image before (!) the actual deletion.
So that's the scary thing: you hit 'delete' while the image that you don't want to delete is activated/highlighted.
I'm pretty sure that this wasn't the case in earlier versions. That's why I'm asking myself (and you) why they would have done this...
Thanks for helping,

Yes, I have seen it doing that and wondered whether I had just not noticed it before. However, experiment shows that it actually does delete the right thing.

Yes but you get the shivers when it does that (inexplicably ominous thing).
Especially when you permanently delete something, you want to be sure. There is no recovery when you make a mistake.Question remains: why would they have changed it?
Cheers, Peter

If it's a newish behaviour, perhaps it needs a support case to be submitted so that they are aware of it as an issue that users don't like. And it may have been an unintended consequence of something else, rather than a deliberate change of how it works?

Yes , it's probably unintended and hopefully easily fixable!
Thx for the support!

Peter Gerritsen - have you submitted a support request about it?

Not yet, I will do it today 😌
