Questions regarding recipes and applying metadata
Hi!
I have a few questions i hoped someone can help me with.
1. When processing files by using recipes , is there a way to have the subfolder and the naming to be saved with the recipes and not change ? I.E i have recipes for web output that always get's the prepend web_ and full-size files get's the prepend print_
I makes two recipes where the naming and the size of the files size is set up as i want, but when i create/edit one recipe the name changes as well as the subfolder name. It's seems like that is global ?
Now i can't simply select these two recipes and process, i have to start one name accordingly and then select the other recipe and change name and subfolder and process.
2. Is there a way to apply a metadata preset upon import into a session, but more importantly have it applied on files when shooting tethered (automatically)
Thanx for any advice/input, much appreciated!

Hi Paul,
1. That's easy. In the output tool tab, the tool "Process Recipe" is dedicated to the selected recipe, the other tools e.g. "Output" apply globally.
-Select your web recipe
-Goto tool "Process Recipe"
-Goto tab "File"
-and put in the desired folder name in the field "Sub Folder"
2. I guess there is a way.
Goto metadata, click on the small icon with the tool tip "Presets", save a user preset
Then on import, in the tool Adjustments, select Styles and select your previously saved user preset.
I didn't try this but I guess it works this way.
Cheers

Thanx for the reply!
Regarding the first question.
I still have to change the name of the files for each recipe ?
Which means i still have to change it every time, thus can't select a selection of images and choose a couple of recipes and have them named and sorted in folders automatically ?
Thanx!0 -
Paul,
sorry I misread you. You want a prefix to the filename itself. No problem. In the recipe add _web_ or any other string in the field "Sub Name". In the OUTPUT NAMING tool, in the field "Format" add the token Sub Name by clicking on the icon "...".
For example, my format is [Sub Name][Image Name]-C1 (the brackets representing tokens here)
Recipies without Sub Name will not be affected, recipies with a sub name will get the respective string replaced. I tried it, it works.
btw, I figured this out just a few minutes ago by reading the online help which is accessible by clicking on the "?" in the lower process recipe tool.
cheers

Edit: I would be surprised if there is anything in the recipies which you can't do automated... 😊0 -

Wow Thank you so much BeO!
Yes the token, renaming, processing is really powerful and it will take sometime to get used to all that power at my fingertips. 😄
Again thank you for taking the time to help!
Will read thru the documentation again more carefully 🤭0 -
Very welcome Paul 😄 0
