Unable to activate

When trying to activate a 30 day trial for Capture One Fuji subscription (or to activate the Capture One Fuji Express) I keep getting this error: "Could not query profile because no data was received from the server. Try again later". I've tried over several days, written to support, tried offline activation but nothing works. Any ideas or is this a general problem and should I stick with Lightroom?

Edit: just some extra notes. Firewall is off, no antivirus running and tried with different user profiles...
