Lens Profiles - External program?
Hello.
I am considering migrating from Lightroom (the now obsolete-no-longer-offered-perpetual version) to Capture One (a supported perpetual version)
One area of concern relates to lens profiles; I have been "collecting" lenses for a number of years, and from what I gather the Canon lens support list is . . .missing a bunch of lenses that I have.
An example is the 16-35/2.8-I; Since the -II and -III are supported, I suspect the older Version I will never get on the list. Also not on the list is the EF-S 10-18; which the better half uses routinely.
SO - - - -this is a problem.
- one choice is to buck-it-up and finally get a Lightroom subscription (really don't want to do this -> rather pay for a new program)
- one choice is to manually create profiles for 6-8 lenses for Capture one (sounds painful. . but)
- Is there a choice to get profiles online, or to use an external program (PTLens? DxO?) in conjunction with Capture One?
* I don't mind *paying* for such a program.
* I would like to an option where a conversion to TIFF is involved (I have lots of storage, but not UNLIMITED storage) I am thinking plug-ins? Is that possible with Capture One?
Thoughts?
Thanks.

The lack of lens profiles is the main reason I will stay with Lightroom and not renew my current one-year-subscription of Capture One. More than half of my lenses are not supported and probably never will be. Lightroom supports every single one of them. 0 -

Do you believe you have a really important requirement for correction for the lenses in your collection that cannot be achieved adequately using the lens correction tool or is it more a case of feeling you want to have a 'complete' process?
I have a couple of manual lenses that are not supported and never will be (cannot be since they send no identity to the software through the camera) but I don't feel I really need to have some sort of automated correction applied to make them usable.
Certainly not to the point where I would wish to switch to LightRoom on a subscription.
If you see things differently that's fine of course but I do think it's a question that needs to be asked.
