I have a situation in which I should like to shoot a tethered Canon camera and retain the original file name and numbers.
It seems that I have to change them. This is normally a good idea but this time I can't allow it to happen. Any advice?
Capture1 6.4.4 on a MAC

  I'm not familiar with v6, but in the later versions you could recreate the original name using the next capture naming tool. For example the name DSC_ plus the "4 Digit Counter" token you would create the name DSC_0001. The counter can be set to the value that matches the camera counter.
  
  Using the Canon capture software and hot folders in Capture One might be another option. Perhaps there is an easier way, but I am not certain of it.
