WiFi connectivity
I am currently trialling Capture One with my new Sony RX10M4 camera. The camera has the facility to export photos by WiFi. Does Capture One have the ability to import these photos by WiFi?

Does the camera show up on the network as an available data storage device if you browse using the import facility?

Yes. I can view the photos on my desktop. Could it be that I am trialling Capture One Express, being, as I understand it, the Sony compatible version.

Eric,
Express does have some limitations being a "Lite" version of C1.
For example you cannot use Express for tethering a camera and thus controlling it from within Capture One.
Also most cameras (traditionally) would not provide for connectivity that allows C1 to see then as a "Storage Device" in order to import directly from a card in the camera. It would be necessary to download to the computer first or remove the card and use a card reader. (There are some benefits to this but that's a different discussion.) The reason tended to be that the connection modes available were identified by C1 for use by the tethering option in preference to just downloads and so always assumed tethering connection was required. (That's the simple description ...)
Recently some cameras have provided connection modes that differentiate between "Mass Storage" connectivity and what wouold be required for tethering.
In general, AFAIK, WiFi connections are not considered tethering connections and so are seen as "Mass Storage".
So IF your computer sees the camera memory card as "Mass Storage" an C1 sees it through its network or finder as Mass Storage then I would think that the Import program should also be able to see it.
Remember that C1 looks for the FOLDER in the card not the images. Import is by folder.
If you want to download images as you take them (but not tethered in C1 terms) you could potentially set up a "Hot Folder" on your computer to which the Camera sends files via WiFI. C1 has a folder monitor option as an sort of alternative to full tethering. I suspect that is also not available in the Express version but you could also trial the Full Functionality version (For Sony only or for all supported cameras) for 30 days if you have not previously done so.
I note that you are trialling Express but have posted this in the Capture One ENTERPRISE section.
I assume this is just a misunderstanding of the C1 product support structure and differentiation of the versions but I thought I had better check with you in case there was some specific relevance to your query that might otherwise be overlooked.
HTH.
