Want to make a Web UI - Documentation of COF/COP formats
I really like the idea of Capture Pilot but I use an Android device and Capture Pilot is too limited to fit into my workflow anyway.
I've been playing around with the SQLite database and ended up building a small script that allows me to integrate C11 with an external program for speedy culling of my images (a big pain point for me with C11). At the moment it's pretty cumbersome though as I have to extract my own previews from the original files. The previews take a few hours to generate and take a ton of space.
I'd really like to improve this by using Capture One's built in COP/COF previews and build a free and open source alternative to Capture Pilot focused on full library management.
The problem is that the COP/COF format is completely undocumented and I haven't been able to find anyone able to decode it. From a cursory look around, I see JPEG headers all over the place so it doesn't look like it's anything super novel, I just need someone to tell me how to deal with them.
Could Phase One publish some details about the format so that I can read it and serve it over HTTP?
Sorry if this is the wrong forum but it didn't seem relevant to the stuff going on in the scripting forum.
P.S. I'd really like a fully featured plugin API. As much as I love Capture One, the library aspect is pretty lacking compared to competitors and rather than complain I'd really like to be given the chance to improve it.

Good idea, though I suggest sending us a formal request via the link in my profile. 0 -

Thanks, I filed a support request.
I added in the support request that a more fully featured API would also make it easy for third party developers to integrate with Capture One. Some example applications I can think of:- Third party Capture Pilot for Android
- Self hosted web galleries based on your catalog
- Specialized apps for particular tasks like culling
- Integration with DAMs
- Capture One as a central DAM
- UI innovations that can eventually be integrated into the desktop software
