Check in the Resource Hub for some useful information and especially videos and webinars.

Also read the section in the Help files if you have not already done so.

When you are fully tethered your computer is controlling the camera and the only storage device the camera knows about is the application. The application controls where the images are saved. The in camera storage is not used at all in the full tether situation.

All settings used by the camera are, normally and wherever possible, controlled by the application on the computer.

For different cameras there might be some subtle differences for some special features (or they might be disabled during tethered shooting) but in principle the application controls everything. So check that the settings in the C1 control panel are for RAW as the file format.

There are usually some camera settings that, via the camera controls, automatically shoot jpg since internal processing is required. I would imagine these settings are not normally programmed into the tethering routine but if they are then presumably that too will disable saving as a RAW file.

    HTH.

In my experience capture one saves the file type based on the camera settings. In other words if your camera was set to save RAW images Capture One saves RAW images and it won't switch to jpgs with out manually changing the setting. My assumption is that you had the camera set up to save JPG's (?)

One thing I've noticed with Capture One is that if the camera is set to save JPGs it will not apply any settings you've adjusted to the next image while tethering.
