Import woes -- images moved
My import isn't working as it was. Starting some time last week when doing an import with Destination set to "Current Location" the files are copied from the current location to the Pictures folder on my Mac. The folder that contained the imported images is NOT added to the list of folders. I don't believe I've done anything to cause this to happen, but who knows.
I have to manually add the folder (+ button) then drag the images to the folder -- except now I have duplicates. I can remove the duplicates and rename them to their original name. But this shouldn't be necessary. How do I get Capture One to honor my "Current Location" request, again?

Catalog or Session?
I am confused, do you expect or did you observe that images were copied, when you choose "Current Location"? Current Location should keep them where they are, no move and no copy. Unless maybe you have selected to backup them to a specific location, then a backup copy takes place.
Did you drag the files in Finder or within the library tool in C1? You should do the latter if working in a catalog. For sessions, you do not have to import them actually, just use the lib tool and find the folder.
But I am just throwing out some general things here which come to my mind as I do not really understand what you have done.

How had you moved the files from the camera onto the disk before importing?
Were they copied from a card via a reader attached to the system? Was it still attached when you imported?

Follow up to answer questions and explain how I fixed the issue:
1) I use a catalog
2) I use a a script outside of Capture One (or any other editing program) to move images from camera memory card to a folder on an external hard drive.
3) I typically select the images I want to import into Capture One and drag them over the Capture One icon in the dock. That brings up the Capture One import screen for those images. Sometimes I'll instead hit the import button and select the desired Import From Source. In both cases Import To Destination is set to Current Location.
4) On Sunday for some reason even though the Import To Destination was set to Current Location the Sample Path listed my Pictures folder. I didn't notice this at the time. I also didn't notice that the Naming section was active. Normally you can not name images when using the Current Location.
5) Importing the images did not use the current location. The images were copied to my Pictures folder and my Pictures folder was used as the location. I didn't notice this for a few days as I edited the images in the automatically selected Recent Imports collection.
The fix: I quit Capture One and killed ALL saved program defaults by opening a terminal window and entering this command:
defaults delete com.phaseone.captureone13
I restarted Capture One -- it starts as if it has never run before -- then restored my workspace from a previously saved value. Everything now works as I expect.
