Nikon D300s Import Images previews

Hi Guys
I've just bought a Nikon D300s and I'm still using capture one 6.4.3. I will upgrade soon 😄
The camera shoots fine tethered, but the problem I have is-
When I plug a USB reader into my macbook pro and Insert the memory card, no previews are displayed in the 'import images window that is automatically displayed.
Anyone got any tips

  With Nikon, they create a strange folder structure on the formatted card.
  You'll have to manually navigate to the necessary folder.

  Indeed. Very probably something like DCIM --> 102ND300 --> images (i have a D300).
  
  If you don't find a structure like this, then there are no images on the card.
