Help! Migrating to a New Computer and all Images are Offline

Quick Summary: When I migrated my C1 catalog to a new computer I located (using locate) the folders that hold all my photos but the photos within the folders remain offline.

If I sync the folders, the offline photos are removed and added again but I loose all my ratings and edits. I do still have access to all images and catalog files on my old computer.

2 Questions:
- How can I get my photos back online without loosing the ratings and edits?
- How can I ensure that ratings and edits are attached to individual files so if something happens with my catalog again I don't have to worry about loosing my edits and ratings?
