Tethering Not Working 5DMKii
Hello,
I'm using the latest C1 Pro and Macbook Pro with the 5DMKii.
I'm trying to tether and it's not connecting. The camera says BUSY if I try to half-press (focus) but never gets anywhere. Capture One never sees the camera (No Camera Attached).
I've tried opening Canon EOS Utility and it sees the camera fine, allows me to Live View etc.
There doesn't seem to be anything using the camera (made sure EOS utility isn't in use) so I can't work out why C1 isn't able to see my camera. It did work in a previous version of C1 Pro 8, but since upgrading I've never been able to.
I've tried turning camera on/off, shutting down C1, restarting machine and various other iterations but no joy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Mike

Hey Mike,
Go on Capture One Preferences, and click on "Capture". Is Canon ticked?

This issue is often solved not only by checking Canon as provider in the Preferences, but removing other providers! Restart COP8 as suggested when you change providers. 0 -
Oh wow, do I feel foolish!
Yes, that's my camera recognised fine now. I really appreciate your help and fast response, guys.
As I assist other photographers, and camera manufacturers often differ, do you know if I am better to keep everything ticked or go in and change to the correct brand before each shoot?
Thanks again!0 -
Normally, you could leave everything checked for obvious reasons. However, for any connection issues with Canon in particular, you could revert to the workaround of unchecking. Might help occasionally for other camera brands, but Canon SDK has the worst reputation.
Not official, but unchecking Sony might already help a great deal when tethering Canon... (competition at the SDK level). 😁0 -
Thanks Paul, I'll give it a go and keep an eye on this to see what works best with my equipment.
I'm gonna go check out your website!
