importing session from portable
forgive me if this was addressed before.
I go to studio with a portable and shoot tethered, I assign ratings, make edits and so on when I am back in the office, what is the best way to import the session? I want the actual files on my ext drive in a specific folder. I want to keep my edits in my catalog. I am sure it is simple but I cant figure it out
Any help greatly appreciated

You can use the Export Originals and export those files to the external drive. 0 -
Drew thank you,
But doing this don't I loose the edits I made in my portable? There must be a way to be able to import from a portable to a main, complete sessions with edit and so on. I am sure I am not the only one who has two machines. I am probably not getting it but I am sure there is a way.
Thanks

Nope.
Just click the option to "Include Adjustments"0 -
Drew, thank you for your help. Here is what I did. I made a catalog on main. I then opened the capture folder in the portable imported the images from there into the catalog with the check box "include previous adjustments" however no adjustments showed up.
What am I doing wrong?
thank you

You never "Exported Original" from the Main Catalog.
Catalogs are a "Once In/Once Out" workflow. So once images are imported to a Catalog (regardless of internal or referenced) the adjustments and thumbnails exist only in the Catalog. If you want those RAW files, with the adjustments applied in the Catalog, to be reflected in another Catalog/Session you must first use "Export Originals, include adjustments" and designate a location.
Then, from that new location you can import the files to a new catalog or browse them in a new session.0 -
