Raw support
Let the forum and the people at Phase One know which cameras you would like C1 Pro to support.
I've been waiting for Samsung NX500 raw support for 6 months and I've tried to draw their attention in this direction. I'm starting to think that its not going to happen at all.
What's the policy. For example, the Samsung is a 28Mpix very competent camera.

You might be disappointed how little benefit there would be to you if we did that. Capture One already supports all of my cameras, and I suspect that's true of most of us.
Sorry, but I honestly have no interest in whether Capture One supports cameras I will never use, and I'm not going to "vote up" a camera I'll never own.
It's safe to assume that if your camera isn't yet supported, it's because there's no case for Phase One expending the resource to develop a profile for it: selfishly, for sure, as far as possible I want Phase One's limited resources expended on what will benefit me.
One reason why I stick to Canon cameras is that support for them in all of the Raw converters I use is invariably guaranteed, and quick.
Doubtless the Sammy is a capable camera, but that counts for little if there aren't many out there: timely camera support in Capture One really is a popularity contest, and low sales volume cameras from "niche" manufacturers are always going to be (and always have been) at the back of the queue.
Just how it is, I'm afraid.
Want quick support? Buy a Canon or a Nikon.
Want quick(er) support for the Sammy? Raise a support case for it; and hope that Phase One is bombarded with loads more, all asking for it to be supported.0 -
Keith Reeder - that looks like non kind reply 😊
space is the place - if you want official reply from Phase One guys raise a ticket, if you own a licence it will a quick turn around. But generally less popular cameras are less supported.0 -
No, it's a simple statement of the economic facts of the matter.
Now, I can't stop you from personalising or emotionalising what I've written, but it's neither "kind" nor "non kind". It's essentially neutral in tone (unless you choose to look for unkindness in it), and - importantly - it's the truth of it.0 -
I think Keith's responce was a bit harsh as well, but anyway, I actually think a sticky post on this forum where you could "vote" for file formats would be good.
I did start 2 support cases. Don't know if that helps.
My point of view is that Phase can, if they like to, lock themself to a very small number of supported cameras, but I'd think it would prevent them from selling their software to new users.
Just my thoughts.0 -
Yes, but this is essentially a user-to-user forum. Phase One staff do sometimes participate but if you want to get a message through to them with feature requests, camera support suggestions, and so on, submitting a support case is actually the better way to get to them.
