    1. How do I create local adjustment presets so that I don't have to always set it when i create new masks?
Not available - can always copy and paste one mask from a file to another and "tweak the mask after"

    2. Is there a keyboard shortcut for creating new layers?
Nope, usually start brushing (b) or use the grad tool (g) for the first adjustment layer - after that seeing as I'll be in the Local Adjustments tab anyway, hit the + icon..

    3. If I want to remove moles, should I use spot removal or heal layer? The heal layer seems to always sample the wrong layers, unlike in LR/PS.
I use the spot removal for moles. Heal and Clone layers will always sample the original image.

    4. Is there any quality difference when roundtripping from C1 to PS and LR to PS?

    Roundtripping?

    5. For copy/paste adjustments, how do I select copying of 1 vs all settings (including layers, spot removals and such)? There's no dialog pop-up when I copy/paste.
Spot removal is never copied, only dust.. Everything else is ctrl+shift+c (to copy) ctrl+shift+v (to paste).

Once you've copied a selected photos adjustments, you can head to the Styles & Presets tab and deselect anything you dont want to carry over when you paste the adjustments..

    6. Is there any auto straighten tool in C1? I'm doing it manually right now.
    No auto straighten feature

    7. How do I exactly sample the skin tone to auto-create a mask for adjustment? I've seen the tutorials but it is really confusing for me.

    8. Is there any "match exposure" function in C1 based on histogram for raw files?
click the A icon on the Exposure bar and Capture One will do it's best

    9. Is there any "Dehaze" equivalent of LR in C1? The clarity/structure adjustments in C1 aren't really close to LR. Wonder if there is another hidden feature I've not discovered yet.
If you could show us what you mean? Before and after image? C1's clarity tool is much better than Lr in that it actually does what it's meant to rather than that horrible thing that happens to images when using Adobe's version..

    10. Is the jpeg quality slider identical to that in Lightroom? What is the optimum "bang for buck" for a7rii's 42mp files archived as jpegs? I typically choose 76 in LR - curious to know whether any in-depth test has been done on the C1 already.
I've always gone for 100% storage is cheap.

    11. Is there an "Auto Advance" function where after deleting an image, it auto proceeds to the next one?

That's all for now. Thanks in advance for your help!
I do all my culling in BreezeBrowser Pro.

thanks guys for the reply. unfortunately i don't have a Wacom ☹️

    just to clarify further:

for removal of cable lines in c1, u'll use the clone tool too right? looking for something closer to content aware, cos the image doesn't always have a decent area to be sampled.

copy layer/mask - is there a keyboard shortcut? I tried ctrl+c and ctrl+v and it doesn't work. the keyboard shortcut for "apply adjustments" also doesn't work.

noise reduction - is it possible to set defaults for certain ISO values from a certain camera model?

roundtripping - import in C1, send as DNG (can't send original RAW right?) to PS, and send back to C1 again for final touch-up.

match exposure - i was talking about matching exposure based on 1 reference raw image histogram, and not C1 guessing with its 'auto' algorithm.

full sized 42mp previews - how do I force C1 to generate 1:1 previews for my a7rii files? The max preview size is 5120px, which is around 20+mp only. When I zoom in, it still takes a sec to load.

filmstrip preview at bottom - is it possible to shrink the bottom to make more space for the full size image? I tried pulling it down but it still takes up a significant amount of space, quite odd for a program that is super customizable.

multi image view mode - why is it that in this mode, when I click on any one of the images with select tool, it does not go back to 1 image view? I have to click a non-image area at the film strip to deselect, then click the image to go back to 1 image view.

Deleting images - is there any way to remove the delete confirmation dialog? Otherwise, how do I default to deleting the image instead of reference?

Content aware? **shudder** you'll have to output as a TFF/JPEG and do that in PS.

When you CTRL+SHIFT+C it should pick up all adjustment layers from that image as well as the other adjustments made (just tried it - works for me)

Not that i've ever seen - it's possible to set defaults for various adjustments on different camera models, I've never felt the need to adjust the noise reduction?

C1 for final touch-up? C1 is designed to be the first level tweak to the RAW before sending to Photoshop for final touch-up..

Try contacting support with that question?

Do you have a 5K monitor? I've always believed looking at the preview sizes given, they match whatever monitor your display is?

I use dual screen. sorry. And have it set to the left when I'm shooting tethered to my Laptop.. 😕

If you hold down Shift and click on the original image, it will deselect all other images.

I don't delete files from C1, but I didn't get one when deleting 1 file, and got this when I went to delete multiple files?

You can select which messages do and do not appear.

You can switch the Browser and tool panels on and off with short cuts. Not much point in making the browser so small as to be unusable.

Alternatively set up customised Workspaces and switch between them if that works better for you.

You can control most of what is and isn't copied from the entire image by ticking what you want to include using the Clipboard feature. This works in the background even if you don't make it visible in your process steps in order to save a few keystrokes.

For NR. The inbuilt values for camera default settings are a starting point for that. If you find an extra adjustment that you always like to apply for specific ISO values then you could save that as a preset in each case and, I would suggest, apply it as part of the import process. However you would likely need to import in batches by ISO value filter to make that work for you. No big deal but not automatic unless you have some very rigid shoots undertaken by ISO setting. Peronally I don't recall finding a standard setting that would always apply per ISO - although some batches of files can benefit form adjusting one of them and then copying the evolved values to the rest.

    Match Exposure: ?

Pick your preferred image and edit it. Copy the settings to the other that you want ot use with those values. Is that the same as Match Exposure?

Auto is an interesting quick fix starting point - maybe, sometimes. But I rarely use it. What are you really trying to achieve? Identical look?

    HTH.
