Color editor not working
Hello,
I've seen some of the strong features of the "color editor" in tutorial videos, and wanted to try it. If I import RAW images, it seems to work, but if I import JPEGs, then the menu is not expanding.
Anyone knows how to fix this?
Thanks,

I have just tried it on a JPG (not something I have done before) and it seems to work. What license version of Capture One are you using, what kind of RAW files did you try (which camera make?) and where do your JPGs come from?

I am trying out Capture One 10 and have also noticed this. Clicking on the Color Editor arrow/expand icon in the adjustments panel on the left either:
1) Does nothing
2) Collapses any and all open tabs in the list
However, if I tear it off and use it as a floating panel, I can then open it/collapse and expand it and it works OK. I am hoping, should we decide to go ahead and purchase that this behaviour is not also present in the fully paid up version.0 -
Go to Preferences, Images and make sure that Enable JPEG Editing is selected. 0 -
AiDon,
Sorry, I should have mentioned, I am only working on RAWs. Nikon D850, D810 NEF files, JPG files - it doesn't matter, the colour editor won't expand and only works as a floating tab.

Colour editor requires quite a lot of screen real estate to expand fully. IF the menu tab you are working from contains a lot of tools and the vertical screen size is on the smaller side then sometimes there is nowhere for it to expand. Making it float (you can drag it out of the stack or launch as a floating tool) means it is not constrained by the existence of other tools.
A 1080 screen seems to be most OK. A 1024 a little more likely to be unable to cope.
Does this help to explain what you are seeing?

Brilliant thanks Grant! To test your advice, I removed one of the tools in the lineup in the Colour tool tab and 'hey presto', the editor appeared. I did have to remove quite a few more in the Local Adjustments tool tab for it to appear, however. So using it as a floating palette, at least whilst working on a laptop, is a satisfactory option. 0
