How exactly did you proceed after selecting File->Open?

I just moved a session folder from my main disk to a scratch disk on the same computer. The session folder, the Session so to speak, is the folder with folders Capture, Output, Selects, Trash folders inside plus the very important file your_session_name.cosessiondb. I then started C1, continued with File->Open and navigated to the copied session folder and double clicked on the file my_session_name.cosessiondb. C1 opened that session and everything is where I expected it to be.

I right clicked on a random thumbnail image in the browser, selected "Show in Explorer" and C1 navigated the explorer directly to the copied image inside the copied session on the scratch disk. I tried a few more thumbnails and it all appears to work ok. Alas, I do not currently have C1 installed on a second computer to test with, but I suspect that would work too.

I opened the db exactly the same way as you did. File -> Open -> opened the db file. Do you have subfolders inside the Capture folder? C1 was working with no issues when there is no subfolder inside the Capture folder. Only when there are subfolders inside the Capture folder the problem appears.

Yes, I do. The session I copied to check before I posted, had only two sub folders inside the Capture folder as it is my most recent session. I just repeated the procedure, same session but three sub folders and a few hundreds more images. As far as I can tell, it is all there in the copied session, images, metadata, adjustments, output, trash. The copied session even started with the same image selected.

C1 has some user- and possibly installation-specific housekeeping data that may perhaps come into play when a session is copied between computers. You need someone with C1 installed on multiple computers to test this for you. Your best bet may be to file a Support ticket.
