    Sounds like you have not set up a session folder you get error message fffdddd or some thing similar, basically it has nowhere to save the file.

    Make sure you read the pdf manual.

    p.s. The canon software is rubbish too slow bad colour management

    Thanks Acid - that's exactly what's happening. However, I've always used just one session (the default one) and just pointed to different folders as the capture ones. How do I indicate that the new session is specific to the camera? Just make a new session, and the software will save the Canon pics to it?
    And what PDF manual are you referring to? The one I read (way back, a few versions back - I've been using C1 for a couple of years) didn't give any details on tethered shooting.
    I use the Canon software simply to capture, then I process in C1. If I can capture in C1, can I white balance on the first frame, and have that applied to the rest of the frames? Is there a set of instructions for this, anywhere?
