Clear rating issue
I have an issue with clearing the rating of previously set value. Once i rate the image, there is only one way to remove the rating - by going to Metadata Tab and clicking the Rating label of in Basic. Hitting 0 or setting it via context menu (right-click, then selecting Rating > clear) does not reset the previously set rating. Note, that in my set-up I use XMP sidecars for full sync, but even setting the Auto Sync to None does not return the function of the 0 button.
I have made sure that the default command keyboard set it selected and operating. I am using the most recent Windows release of C1 6.3.4 build 55583. Previous versions also had this issue.

I have had the same issue for some time.
It appears that it is primarily a Windows issue.
I often clear it in Media Pro.0 -
Since the issue cannot be repeated on our end, it might be specific to a setting or hardware.
If you two would create a support case with some details about your system it would be appreciated.
In the past, there was a similar issue where the '0' key to reset the rating was not working on a users system and turned out to be a communication fault of the specific brand of keyboard in conjunction with the language settings.0 -
Have seen this in early days of CO6. Do you also create ratings, which are stored in the XMP file, through another program?
This might help to reproduce the error.0 -

If I understand your question right - the answer is yes.
I create ratings with Media Pro and with Lightroom (not always on the same file).
MP uses a alt-0 to clear.
Lightroom uses a 0 or 1 .., and it works just fine. Type a 0 and it clears a 1 star
In fact, LR can change the 1 set by CO from the keyboard, where CO cannot - using the same keyboard.0 -
Are the files being accessed by more than one software at a time? 0 -

It doesn't seem to matter. I have had CO open by itself when I first found the problem, CO & MP together, CO & LR & MP together for this last test.
I have not tried all combos in a systematic test, though.0 -
same here. unable to clear ratings with shortcut or via menu. its possible however to increase or decrease the rating but not to 0. no other software acessing or used for rating or xmp edits.
klicking on rating in metadata tab works (ta for the tip)
c1 6.4 -32, fullsync, WinXP SP3 in 3gb mode.0 -

What happens if you disable the full sync?0 -
hi paul,
if i put the sync to load or none in the prefs (with none of the two prefernces options ticked) on pressing 0 it reverts back to the value it had before the change.
e.g if i was 2* before the change of sync in the prefs i can change to other values but on presing 0 it reverts back to 2*. if it started out with 0* it goes back to 0*. so i guess it would work for "fresh" pics.(i don't use sessions rather folders). same after reloading the folder or restarting C1.
changing it to 0 in the metadata tab still works.
the whole issue only started a few weeks ago, but i'm not sure if it was after the 4.6 update or even before.
I updated to 4.6.1 now - same issue.0
