Issue with importing scanned image files

Ten days into migration from LR to C1 latest. Importing all manor of raw digital capture files working just fine.

But when I try to import tif scanned files of B&W images from original raw folder on HD it is hit or miss... mostly miss. And I can't figure out why. One group imported OK; they were Adobe RGB (1998) color space. But the others, which failed, were gray or sRGB space. Don't see any other differences.

By "fail" I mean they seem to import OK (images appear in C1 where they should) but the "Levels" and "Curve" info are not displayed. And the sliders controlling all other variables (Exposure, etc.) are shaded and not available.

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but being new to C1, I don't know what else to check

Any suggestions?

Could always just use LR for scanned B&W and C1 for digital capture... but that's a pain and not a very elegant solution.

As far as I know, grayscale images are not supported in CO8.

Just tried two sRGB files, one just converted from gray scale, and neither were recognized. I'm sure sRGB would be recognized. But could it be possible that if the file has been a gray scale at some point in its history, even though it is now an sRGB, there is something imbedded in the file from its gray scale history that causes C1 to see as a gray scale.

Let me explain. I've had problems getting Blurb type books printed with B&W images that don't have a green/magenta/blue coloration. On their advice a tried it a second time with the sRGB files converted to gray scale.

Difficult to say. I suggest you contact support and upload a file. Please also note that very small files and very large ones can give issues when you try to open with CO8.
