"Locate in Explorer" Greyed Out in 11.1.X
Hello sirs or ma'am,
I'm going to be posting this in the Luminous Landscape for more visibility. I know my memory is NOT playing tricks on me. I know in past versions of C1PRO, I can invoke "Locate in Explorer" for RAW files from supported cameras imported as "Inside Catalog."
This is needed in those times, when I have no idea exactly where my RAW file is in the C1PRO catalog structure. In the current 11.1.1 the option is greyed out. I thought this could be a BUG. Support replied not the case.
I purposely went back to 9.3.X and turns out I was able to invoke "Locate in Explorer" for RAW files supported. I can't install version 10, because it's also the same license as my 11. It's an upgraded license.
Can you confirm/verify my findings? In other words, the "Locate in Explorer" greyed out in 11.1.1 is a BUG and oddity requiring further inspection. Something is WRONG, if that functionality was stripped out in version 11.
Best in health and warmest wishes,

But if your files are inside the catalog (managed) how can explorer locate them? Isn’t that for referenced files stored somewhere in your file system, rather than inside the catalog?

As mentioned above, in the raw-files are stored inside the catalog, the Show in Explorer functionality will not be available.
When the files are stored inside the catalog, it is considered fully managed, and as such, the structure or the files should not be changed manually.0 -
Hi Ian,
Preceding version 11, the "flaw" brought useful function and utility to me. Although I don't use it often, there are times I NEED to know the exact path inside the Originals folder. When RAW files are imported into the catalog using "Inside Catalog," all of them are stored in the Originals folder, followed by the year, month, day, and some numbers I can't make out.
This "flaw" according to P1 Support is useful to ME, because certain times, invoking "Locate in Explorer" would mean that a Windows Explorer pops up in the window to the path (location) inside the Original folder! Are we understanding now? That used to work in EARLIER versions. Once I know this location, I could copy and paste into Bridge and process and see how ACR handle the RAW files.
After exchanging friendly messages with Support, I came to adapt and accept that in version 11, this "flaw" has been fixed and I have changed my habits to work as intended.
If I wanted to LOCATE a RAW file, I would now export to my desktop to open in ACR to see how ACR handles the file(s). I am re-teaching and condition myself to the "intended" way of the completely managed "Inside Catalog" workflow.[quote="Ian3" wrote:

Indeed. I had an honest and friendly messages with Support and I think Drew shared some proper work arounds. As I have indicated in the updates to my thread, I have started adapting the "proper and right" ways.
It's already been said. There is still a tiny part of me, who wants to know the exact location of RAW files are stored when having "Inside Catalog" as import option. The "flaw" was useful to me and I honestly had a knee-jerk reaction, when something that was useful to me was '"fixed". (Removed).[quote="ben_US" wrote:
