GOing back to an earlier version of CO

Is there a particular procedure that needs to be followed to install an earlier version (say C03 instead of CO5) on the same system? Maybe deactivating the excisting version first?

I tried installing CO 3.7.1 again, but when opening the program I got a message that the trial period had expired, although I bought an official licence and registration code.

My system (XP Pro SP3 - AMD Athlon XP 2800+ /2.09 Ghz - 2GB Ram) does not seem to meet the requirements that allows smooth use of CO5. Running Windows Task Manager during startup of CO5 reveals that CPU-usage constanty climbs to almost 100%. Loading a session takes forever (20 minutes and longer nomatter the number of files in the session folder). Meanwhile I cannot perform anything else on the PC, except being patient.

  IIRC there has been an issue with CO 5.0 and AMD (multi core) processors. Should be fixed in 5.0.1. Not sure which version you use.
  CO3.x/4.x/5.x can be installed together on one Windows system and run independently (maybe not necessarily at the same time).
  
  If you like to run CO3.x/Win you MUST use 3.7.9 due to a bug in any earlier 3.x version which prevents it from running in 2010!

  You have been very helpful since I have been posting topics, Paul. Thank you again.
  
  My AMD processor is not dual core (nor quad core) and I am already running CO 5.1 - nevertheless I suppose the issue you mentioned applies to my case too.
  
  So as long as I have not upgraded my system I 'll use version 3.7.9 that I downloaded according to your info. I anxious to see if I can get it up and running.
