6.1.1 Sluggish mask brushing in local adjustment

My computer is quadcore I7 with 6 GB memory, SSD. I really like local adjustment but the brush is sluggish. Mask display lags my brush motion up to .5 sec. File is raw 5D Mk2. I am using mouse to brush the mask. CPU usage was only 20-25%. Suggestions/help is appreciated.
