X-trans RAF picture size XF1

Hi,

i am currently testing Capture One Pro 7.1.3
When i import a raw ( .RAF) file generated by my Fuji XF1 (L = fine setting) it is imported with a file size of 2816 x 2112 instead of 4000 x 3000 pixels. This translates to 6 MP instead of 12 MP. Is there a way to get the full resolution of the x-trans sensor?

    Hi, resizing the crop tool does not change the size. It seems to reset to this "crop".
    I can manually adjust the crop tool to give me 3262 x 2245 px, but it wont scale to 4000 x 3000. It might be a mixture of cropping & lens correction that leads to this. If i look at the File size under "Info" it says 2816x2112.

    Hi,

    can someone do me a favor and ty to import this .RAF raw image from a Fuji XF1 Test? What it should give you is a 4000x3000 picture. What it does do with my copy of Capture One is, again, 2816x2112.

    I have just tested a raw file from a X-Pro 1 with my copy of Capture One. The size is correct. Seems to be a problem with the Capture One XF1 File support.

    Can you confirm?

    Not to upset you, but when I read the specs of the camera, the pixels you record (I downloaded your file and confirm the amount) is a regular camera setting. More details in the link below or in your camera manual.

    The amount of 4000x3000 px is the maximum amount of pixels the camera records, not a fixed value. Lower values can be set.

    lower values are only valid for jpg, not RAF at least that was the case with my X-E1

    this is highly appreciated. You are right, the camera can be set to record exactly the resolution (2816 x 2112) i get from my raw files. Of course i want to rule out a user error, which might of course be the case.
    However the setting i use on my XF1 is "L 4:3" which should result in 4000x3000 jpgs. I have tested the very same files using Lightroom, it gives me the desired 4000x3000 jpgs. The same is true for the test file downloaded from the link i provided. However using Raw Therapee i get 2840x2136.

    All of these evidence point either towards a wrong setting in my Capture One set up, or an error in the interpretation of the XF1 raw files.

    There was similar issue with the X-E1 in Lightroom. When shooting in raw you always get the full size file but the crop setting (that is only applied to ooc jpgs) is still stored in the metadata. This may be what is confusing CO. The Lightroom bug was fixed by Adobe in v 4.4.

    Unfortunately the bug was not resolved yet. So no RAW using the Fuji XF1 right now.
