tethered not working, Help!

Hi there.

I have a problem hope you can help me

I downloaded from phase one web the trial verion 3.7.3 of capture one .
becasuse in a week time I will rent the P25 for a photoshot I wanted to make sure that I would not have any problem and test it in advance.
I want to tell you that I installed the software on my laptop (Dell P4 HT 3.0Ghz and 1 GB RAM +Ati radeon128mb Graphic) and the idea was to go and test it with the P25 of a colleague (he uses the P25 attached to a Hasselblad 503CW and tethered with a Mac G4 Laptop).
Once there and the PC on I also started C1 pro and then we connected the phase one and cam via firewire to the laptop.
Unfortunately nothing was happening even when clicking the camera icon on the top left of the c1 software ,there was no response.
My colleague said that with mac usually as soon you put the firewire in to the laptop we should have and auto activaction of the d-back and he was also stating that the software interface was different from the mac version(We though because of windows version).

More info I can give is that I have a PCMCIA firewire card which is OCHI compliant and works with other devices (like lacie ext HD).
Furthermore I have to tell you tht when we tryed the tethering tha Hassekblad did not have a motor engine attached (if that make a difference)and my colleagu use it in that wat.

Finally one more question : is the C1 software only to be used to adjust and process RAW Phase one files of he can work as tool to adjust and manipulate even JPG and tiff not shot with phase one himself?
