How to install 4.81 in Windows Business Vista

How do you install 4.81 in Windows Business Vista and have in run under Vista and not windows xp. This would be the opposite of trying to install 3.78 under Vista and have to have it see XP. All I can get it see is XP or lower?

    Maybe I do not understand your question but you can install CO 4.8.1 in Vista without any special measure (like is needed for CO 3.7.8).

    Install 4.81 on windows 7 machine. It works the way it should. I run two monitors and can use both. Okay, install 4.81 on Vista business ( 64 bit ) computer. Cannot see two monitors. If you go to windows 7 computer and right click CS1 exe file and read compatibility it will say that it is running under windows vista service pack 1. Do the same to the other computer and it will say that it running under windows xp service pack 2. Both computers have Vista or higher with 64 bit OS. So my question was why, or how does the Vista computer not see that 4.81 is running under vista and not XP.

    I have 3.78 on these computers and they run much, much slower than they did under xp. I did install as instructed per Phase One.

    When I install CO 4.8.1 on Vista Business x64 SP1 the executable (CaptureOne.exe) does not run in any compatibility mode; it is not checked. If it does run in compatibility mode on your Vista x64, you might try to uncheck it and see what's happening.
    I also installed CO 4.8.1 on Windows 7 Ultimate RC (x86) and again no compatibility mode was set for CaptureOne.exe.

    Thanks for that info Paul. I will look at this. If you could do me a favor in your free time. Could you go back to what you did and check off the compatibility box and then scroll down to see if Vista is even listed in these settings. Again it is listed for windows 7 not on Vista computer though.

    Bob, I can confirm your findings regarding the differences in compatibility mode options between Windows Vista and Windows 7 (RC). As is the purpose of the compatibility mode - to run an application as if it was installed on an older version of Windows - it does not list the operating system itself (just uncheck the option to run it unbiased on the Windows version at hand).
    Hence, Windows 7 lists Windows Vista as one of the operating systems in compatibility mode and Windows Vista does not. It does not list itself like Windows 7 does not lists itself either.

    That's what I get Paul. The only difference that I can see between the two computers is that 7 will show two monitors and with Vista I cannot get the second monitor to show. Also with the vista version, under the windows tab you do not get the Viewer F 10 tab to show up.
